Statement from LFCC President
Words do not adequately describe the impact of the loss that Virginia Tech experienced on Monday. Whether we have personal or professional ties to Virginia Tech or not, this type of event affects all of us as we share in the grief of a sister institution and a fellow Virginia community as they deal with the loss of so many lives.
It is during these types of tragic events that we must rally around each other for support. We can never erase what has happened. However, we can ease the pain by being there for one another and talking, listening, crying and sharing. This is all part of the natural grieving process. The important thing is to bond together and move forward in unity.
LFCC is hosting several events and activities to assist LFCC's students, employees, alumni, donors and community members with the healing process. These events provide an opportunity for us to join together in remembrance of those who lost their lives at Virginia Tech and in support of each other as we deal with this tragedy.
Please remember the Virginia Tech family and Blacksburg community in your thoughts and prayers as they try to cope with this unthinkable tragedy.
