Classroom Discussion Topics
As an educational institution, LFCC’s mission is to foster a positive learning environment. As students attempt to cope with this tragedy, a number of faculty members are devoting a portion of their class time to assist students in dealing with this tragedy through critical thinking.
Faculty members from various disciplines are using their expertise to facilitate discussions about lessons learned from this event. Examples include discussing the psychological implications of this event on students and how to cope with a crisis. Other faculty members are encouraging their students to express themselves creatively through writing and public speaking.
LFCC encourages faculty members to be supportive of students as they cope with this tragedy and to devote classroom time to this form of learning.
