Benefit Show
Following is an excerpt from an April 28 e-mail message from Steve Hofstetter:Following is an excerpt from an e-mail message from Steve Hofstetter:Thank you so much for your support of the Help the Hokies benefit. I wanted to give a brief update.
We now have a website, helpthehokies.com. The website takes donations, and has tons of info about the show (and thank yous to everyone who is helping!). We're all over the radio (over 100 stations!) and donations have been pouring in. However, we still want to make sure that the show itself has been successful, so any donation gets you in the door.
And a local radio station will be doing a pre-show broadcast from the theatre! So come early, meet the comedians, and maybe even be on the radio.
We've also got some posters now. Any help you can be printing them up would be wonderful!

A number of comedians and I are traveling to Blacksburg on May 2nd to perform a benefit show for the families of those killed in the VA Tech shootings. We're paying for a large theatre and encouraging students from across the country to donate their time and money to help the cause. Many students are planning road trips across the country to be there, and others are buying tickets even if they can't show up. Already donations are pouring in through a facebook group, and many students have expressed interest in everything from helping design and produce the promo to sending emails to inviting people to the facebook group. For more information, please contact Mr. Hofstetter at steve@comedyexpresstv.com. Thank you. We're trying to generate as much support from across the country as possible, so I wanted to email everyone I knew in the college sphere. If you could help get the word out in any way, it would go along way towards helping those hurt by this terrible tragedy. At least they will not have to worry about the costs of burying their loved ones.
Please let me know if the students at Lord Fairfax Community College might be interested, or if you could send an email out to your students or board about the show and the group. The group is called “Benefit for Families of VA Tech Victims” and it's located at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2381135729.
Thank you so much, and I hope that you're as okay as it's possible to be right now.
