Student IDs

Your student ID card is your official Lord Fairfax Community College identification. Student activity fees cover your first card issued; there is a $20 charge for a replacement card. Apply for your card at the Student Activities Office, Room167, on the Middletown Campus or Student Success Office, Room 213, on the Fauquier Campus.

  • All credit students must have an ID card.
  • You should have only one valid ID card in your possession, and it should be the one most recently issued to you by the College.
  • You cannot transfer your card to another person.
  • If your card is stolen, you must file a theft report with the Student Activities Office and apply for a new card.
  • If your card is damaged and unusable, you must turn in the damaged card to the Student Activities Office and apply for a new card.
  • If you get a replacement card, your old card becomes invalid. It cannot be re-validated.
  • You must return your card if asked to do so by appropriate College staff.

College staff may ask you to return your ID card in the following situations:

  • When there is an indication that an ID card is invalid. This ID will be forwarded to the Student Activities Office and will not be returned to the student.
  • At any event or location, when a student presents an ID that does not match his or her appearance and cannot produce another form of picture identification to confirm his or her identity. Student disciplinary action may also be initiated in this situation.

The owner and/or the holder of an ID card may be subject to up to a $50 fine and/or disciplinary action for:

  • Lending a student ID card to anyone
  • Failing to present a student ID card when it is requested by a college official
  • Possessing more than one student ID
  • Attempting to use a card that has been reported lost or stolen
