How Do I Identify eLearning Courses in LFCC's Class Schedule?

It is very important to pay attention to the course section number and the notes listed under a course in the printed schedule. The section number is a three-character identifier that is listed to the right of the class number in LFCC's class schedule.

Online courses will have a section number that begins with a 'W.' For example, a section number of W0B would be used to identify an online (Web-based course). Online courses are administered from both the Middletown and Fauquier Campuses. Hence it is critical that you make sure you look at the course listings for both campuses if you are interested in taking an online course at LFCC.

Compressed video courses are listed as "Distance Education" courses in LFCC's class schedule. They have a section number that begins with a 'D.' For example, a section number of D0A would be used to identify a class that is scheduled in one of LFCC's distance learning classrooms and administered using special compressed video technology.

Hybrid courses do not have a special section number. Instead, hybrid courses are clearly noted as such in the notes that are located immediately below the course listing. Since hybrid courses have both a traditional classroom-based face-to-face component and an online component it is very important that you read the notes located below the course listing carefully and that you pay particular attention to the required meeting days and times.
