Live Answering Service
To ensure that all emergencies are handled as quickly and efficiently as possible, Lord Fairfax Community College has engaged a "live" answering service. This service will supplement the College's current security.
- Calls that ring to 540-868-SAFE (7233) more than five times will be automatically answered by the live answering service.
- At that time, the operator will go through a script, walking the caller through the emergency.
- Based on the type of emergency, the operator will call the All Call Pager, or contact individual members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- The ERT will contact the operator for details about the emergency
While the service is not intended for non-emergencies, it does provide the assurance that someone who calls the LFCC security number will reach a real person.
