Affordable Tuition

Virginia Community College System (VCCS) tuition will not exceed half of the average cost to attend a public four-year institution in the Commonwealth.

"I inspire the power of potential in my students by…"
"…urging students to take charge of their education: establish personal goals for each class and focus on a career by becoming involved as an intern, an employee and researcher."
Gail Elizabeth Price
assistant professor of English and director emeritus of the Luray-Page County Center
  • Two students were helped in realizing the power of their potential when they each received scholarships to attend LFCC in the inaugural year of the Commonwealth Legacy Scholarship Program. The scholarship provides up to $3,000 for a full year of tuition, books and fees at any of the 40 campuses of the 23 colleges in the VCCS.
  • Tuition and fees for schools in the VCCS averaged $2,269 in 2006, according to VCCS data. That is approximately one-third the cost of tuition and fees at a four-year public college or university, which averaged $6,631 in 2006.
