Welcome to Lord Fairfax Community College Athletics, home of the Lions. The LFCC's Athletic intercollegiate program is relatively new; starting with men's and women's soccer in 2005, followed by, men and women's basketball in 2009, men's rugby in 2011, and women's rugby in 2012.
Our programs compete locally, regionally, and nationally. Both Women's and Men's Soccer teams are members of Region I of the National Intramural-Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA); the Women's Soccer team competes in the Baltimore-Washington Division and the Men's Soccer team competes in the DC Beltway Division. The Women's and Men's Rugby teams are members of the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO). The Men's team competes in the Cardinal Conference in NSCRO. The Fall 2013 rugby season gave LFCC its first athletics' championship trophy by winning the Cardinal Conference and became ranked #22(out of over 220 colleges and universities in NSCRO), and 14th in Rugby 7's. The Women's Rugby team competes in the Capital Conference in NSCRO. Both rugby programs have Fall and Spring seasons.
We always welcome and encourage all students to become a Lion (before and during the season).
