Emergency Medical Services — Enhanced
Career Studies Certificate
The following is a description of current program requirements. Students who enrolled previously should consult the catalog for the year in which they began the program, and/or their advisor.
EMT certificate courses must be taken in the prescribed sequence, which begins only in the fall semesters.
The Emergency Medical Services—Enhanced CSC prepares graduates to sit for Virginia EMT-Enhanced certification exam. Upon certification, individuals may volunteer or be employed as pre-hospital providers in either emergency medical services alone or in conjunction with fire services.
Interested students should apply to the Division of Science and Health Professions at the Middletown Campus by the April 30th application deadline in order to complete required background screening and health forms prior to enrollment. Seating is limited, and priority seating is given to residents of the LFCC service region.
* LFCC does not offer the courses for EMT-Basic (i.e. EMS 111 & 120). Potential applicants should contact the Lord Fairfax EMS Council at 540-665-0014 for information on EMT-B certification courses offered in this region.
