LFCC Forensic Team Award Winners

The LFCC Forensic Team performed well at the Morgan State University Speech/Drama/Debate Tournament in Baltimore, MD on October 19-20, 2013. The team received 4th place in the overall sweepstakes and the following students were recognized for their individual efforts:

 Ron Anderson – 3rd place, Persuasive Speaking (Bluemont, VA)

Bekah Pennington – 6th place, Duo Interpretation (Front Royal, VA)

John Riggs – 6th place, Extemporaneous Speaking (Luray, VA)

Kelsey Owens – 2nd place, Persuasive Speaking; 5th place, Single Dramatic Interpretation; 6th place, Duo Interpretation (Clearbrook, VA)

Briana Hudnall – 1st place, Duo Interpretation (Stephens City, VA)

Angelica Ruscio – 1st place, Duo Interpretation (Stephens City, VA)

Lydia Hisey – 3rd place, Single Dramatic Interpretation (Front Royal, VA)

Erik Jurek – 6th place, Informative Speaking (Strasburg, VA)

Camille Gibson – 1st place, Prose Interpretation; 5th place, Poetry Interpretation (Middletown, VA)

 

Briana Hudnall states, "The experience was phenomenal."  She and her partner, Angelica Ruscio took home a 1st place award. Hudnall continued by saying, "Although it's a competition, everyone helps cheer one another on, so everyone walks away a winner."

 

The Forensic Team is sponsored by the Speech and Drama Department for students who want to excel in speaking and performing arts. In its 19 year history, the team has earned numerous trophies and awards.
