Library Resources Available Online
- How do I access library databases from off-campus?
- Only registered students can access library databases from off-campus. Click on a database link and you will be asked for your VCCS username and password. Use the same username and password you do when logging in to Blackboard or your VCCS e-mail. Help with usernames and passwords is available here.
- Books and E-Books
- The LFCC catalog is available over the Web to search books. You may call or e-mail either campus library to request a book be held there for you. Over 25,000 full-text E-books from netLibrary are available in the catalog. You must create an account before you can use NetLibrary books.
- Magazine and Journal Articles
- The Library offers full-text articles from thousands of journals and magazines that you can access and read from off-campus.
- Reference Databases and Resources
- The Library offers specialized reference resources and databases online, from Birds of America to Encyclopedia Britannica. Choose a reference resource or database to search here.
Luray-Page County Center Services
- Luray-Page County Center Overview
- The Lord Fairfax Community College Library provides research services for students who are taking courses at the Luray-Page County Center. In addition to online access to over 200 databases in various subject areas and more than 8800 unique journal, magazine and newspaper titles in full-text, the libraries provide books by mail, interlibrary loan, and research assistance to students.
- Books for the Center's students
- The Center's students needing a book or an article that is not available online may request library materials be sent to them. They will need a library card before they can borrow any materials. To be issued a library card, Library staff needs to talk to a student over the phone. Students can call Toll Free - 1-800-906-5322, ext. 7170 or direct at 540-868-7170.
Circulating books and photocopies of articles can be mailed with postage-paid return packaging included. Please contact the Library to request print materials.
