Financial Aid

If you are currently unemployed, you may be eligible for federal financial aid. Eligibility for federal grant aid, such as Pell Grants, is need-based and depends on the total income of your family. New Educational Opportunities for Unemployed Workers are available.

The Financial Aid Office does not mail award notifications or request necessary documents via postal mail. This information will be communicated to you via your LFCC student e-mail account and your MY LFCC account.

To view your financial aid, click Login to MY LFCC above, and click the VCCS SIS: Student Information System > Self Service > Student Center.  Review the To Do List section (if applicable) and the Financial Aid tab.

To access your student e-mail, click Login to MY LFCC above, and click the Gmail link. You have the option of forwarding that e-mail account to your personal account.

The Financial Aid staff at LFCC is committed to using all available funds to help students gain access to a college education. Financial aid is usually awarded based on financial need, but can be awarded based on merit or a combination of factors. Assistance is available through a variety of federal, state and institutional programs for those who have financial need. Lord Fairfax Community College promotes equal educational opportunity without regard to race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, or other non-merit factors.

During the 2013-14 academic year, LFCC awarded in excess of $15.2 million dollars in grants, loans, work-study and scholarships to more than 3,400 students.

To assist you in estimating your family’s contribution (cost), we have developed a Net Price Calculator. The calculator will estimate your Parent Contribution and Student Contribution. This calculator is meant to be used as a tool for prospective students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents living in the United States. If you have questions about the Net Price Calculator please contact the Financial Aid Office at or 540-868-7130.
