Transient Student

A transient student is a student currently attending another higher education institution wanting to take a class at Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) to transfer back to their main institution.

The main institution must approve LFCC classes transient students intend to take. As a courtesy to the main institution, placement testing requirements at LFCC will be waived, and high school or college transcripts are not required.

Transient students must: 

• Complete an LFCC application for admission.
• Complete the Transient Student Approval form, have it signed by the appropriate official at the main institution, and send the form to the Admissions and Records Office at LFCC for processing.
