Tutor Connection

The Tutor Connection provides free tutoring services to all LFCC students. On the Middletown Campus, students interested in receiving tutoring services are required to submit a completed request form to the SLC. Requests are normally fulfilled within 48 to 72 hours, and both students and their respective tutors sign a contract, outlining the expectations and responsibilities of the tutoring arrangement. Each student is eligible for a maximum of three hours of tutoring per subject, per week; however, extraordinary needs for additional sessions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Tutoring is a rewarding experience and tutors are always needed! To be considered for employment as a tutor, individuals are required to maintain a 3.0 grade point average, have completed 12 college or university credits, have attained a grade of B or higher in the subject area they are interested in tutoring and submit a recommendation form completed by the respective faculty member. Once hired, tutors are required to complete a structured tutor training regimen established by the SLC prior to tutoring students. Tutor training encompasses tutoring methods that assist both the tutor and student, responsibilities of both the tutor and student and constructive solutions to typical challenges that may arise during tutoring.
