Notes: Requisite: No previous keyboard skills or below 25 words per minute. Transfer students may use this as an elective course. Software: Microsoft Word 2013 (Windows version). Microsoft Office 2013 is the application software and Windows 7 is the operating system for this course. This may include the 2013 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Students should recognize that not all editions of Microsoft Office include all four components (specifically Access). While LFCC recognizes that some students use other non-compatible operating systems and versions of Office, it is necessary to use the software which is most widely used for this course. Students wishing to use other computing platforms (e.g. Mac, Unix, Linux, etc.) as well as other versions of application software may do so, but those students will be responsible for working through any differences between the instruction provided and the hardware/software they are using. The textbook and associated software is designed specifically for Microsoft Office 2013. Students have the option of using the computers at the college (library and open computer labs) which have the appropriate software installed.
