LFCC's Information Systems Technology (IST) Program provides students an opportunity to complete an associate of applied science degree in IST. The IST degree is based on core courses which are required for all IST degree students. The degree will also allow students to obtain specialized areas of study by using the courses contained in one or more Career Studies Certificates (CSC) to satisfy the "Approved IT electives" found in the IST degree program. The specializations are provided through the Career Studies Certificates.
This method enables a student to 1) focus on basic IT skills during the first year of study; and 2) make an informed choice as to the field of concentration that best suits the student.
