Practical Nursing

Approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing, the Practical Nursing Program prepares graduates to enter the nursing profession as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Employment opportunities for LPNs include, but are not limited to, hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, home health care, health departments, physicians' offices and the military. Admission to the program is limited and competitive and is based in part on standardized entrance test results. Priority enrollment is given to residents of the LFCC service region. Advance placement is available to students who are Certified Nurse Aides (Virginia certification required). Students must undergo a criminal background check and drug-screening test and satisfy immunization and health status requirements.
