Alson H. Smith Jr. Technology Center Fact Sheet

Facility Overview and Purpose

The Alson H. Smith Jr. Technology Center at the Middletown campus was originally built in 1984. The building is comprised of a 4,000 gsf multi-purpose room, four classrooms, program and instructional support areas for the Dental Hygiene program, and a 3,000 gsf vocational/technical/receiving support area.

This project is intended to enhance both the multi-purpose room and the instructional and support space vacated by the Nursing program (approximately 3,200 square feet), which has moved to the newly constructed Science and Health Professions Building. Programs remaining in the Alson H. Smith Jr. Technology Building include the Dental Hygiene program, workforce and vocational courses, and "performance-oriented" courses such as speech and drama.
