Workforce
Goal: By 2009, the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) will increase annual participation in workforce programs and services from 125,000 to 225,000 individuals — expanding its reach by 80 percent.
LFCC's Office of Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education (WSCE) was honored to deliver on-site training programs to 80 unique employers in the College's eight-locality service region, which enhanced the skills and abilities of 5,721 employees in our community. In addition to this customized training, the unit also met the needs of 912 employers through classes held at LFCC's three locations, known as open enrollment classes. The Office of WSCE fosters an environment that ignites and sustains a passion for lifelong learning in employees, organizations and communities. The team of WSCE employees is dedicated to being collaborative with and responsive and accountable to all of its constituents. Lifelong learning is vital, because it ensures social and economic development for the region.
