Jennifer (Weisman) Greer
Jennifer (Weisman) Greer attended Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) in the summer of 2006, after her discharge from the United States Air Force. She wanted to take advantage of GI Bill, but the thought of starting college at this stage in life, was a bit intimidating. Her first contact with LFCC was Doug Cumbia, a counseling advisor, who asked her about her interests and what she wanted to achieve. I still remember what he told me, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll still land among the stars!"
Being a nontraditional student, she started her college trek, by taking Student Development 100: College Success Skills. In the fall of 2006, she took a full course load, including a self-paced, Developmental Math class with Professor Mike Garrand. She flourished from there; performing well in all her courses of study at LFCC. In the spring of 2007, Professor Garrand suggested she apply for "The Germaine Scholarship for Women in Math and Science" at Shenandoah University (SU). She was awarded that scholarship and by fall 2007, she commenced undergraduate classes at SU. Not only did she graduate with a Bachelors in Math, but went on to pursue an M.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting.
While attending SU, she was able to study abroad at the University of Jordon. She spent a full semester studying Arabic and other international business studies.
After receiving her Masters in 2012, she was offered a position with American Woodmark as a Cost Accountant. Jennifer was recently promoted to a Financial Analyst in Sales and Marketing with the organization.
