MIDDLETOWN and WARRENTON, Va. – Lord Fairfax Community College's (LFCC) Computer Club is working to clean up the environment and help underprivileged children by collecting unwanted computers and donating them to Computers for Kids Inc. Computers for Kids Inc. is a nonprofit organization that refurbishes old computers and provides them to children living in shelters and/or to preschool and day care facilities.

"We want to help provide technology to children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to use it," said Melissa Stange, an LFCC adjunct instructor and the Computer Club advisor. "This project also promotes e-recycling, which will help eliminate e-waste in our landfills."

LFCC's Computer Club is collecting computers between now and May 4 at 5 p.m. After that date, the club will donate the computers to Computers for Kids Inc.
