The recent "Evening with the Stars" fundraiser raised nearly $25,000 to support the LFCC-Luray Page County Center. "It is heartwarming that so many businesses stepped up as event sponsors and scholarship donors," explains Judy Suddith, LFCC's office manager for the LFCC Luray-Page County Center.  "A special thanks to Luray Caverns for their early and generous support to underwrite the event."

A significant portion of the proceeds from this sell-out event will support scholarships for students from Page County who are attending LFCC.  "We are thrilled to have more than doubled the number of scholarships available to Page County students," explains Liv Heggoy, director of the LFCC Foundation.

Savanna Knave, a student at LFCC and recipient of the Luray Rotary Club's scholarship, spoke to the audience at the fundraiser. Knave explained how important a scholarship is, particularly as she continues her education in the field of nursing:   "Because of this scholarship, I'm off to a good start. The Luray-Page County Center is so convenient for me. It's close to home, and I don't have the added expense of traveling."

The date for next year's fundraiser will be Thursday, June 26.  More details will be provided in early 2014.
