Feb. 10, 2009
LURAY, Va. – The Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) Educational Foundation Inc. recently announced the appointment of a new Board member. Judith J. Suddith will serve a one-year term.
Suddith, a Luray resident, works at LFCC as the office manager of the Luray-Page County Center. Her main responsibility is to oversee the general office operations of the Center to ensure efficient and effective service to students and LFCC employees. Suddith holds an associate degree in media technology from Allegany College of Maryland and a bachelor's degree in communication arts with a specialization in radio, television and film from James Madison University.
"I am a community college graduate and know the value of starting out close to home. LFCC is a place where students can explore all their options while searching for their particular niche. I want each person to be able to find his/her niche and to make a positive difference in local communities. I want to help students in my community, and serving on this board will allow me to do just that," Suddith said.
Suddith believes that LFCC is a great asset to the community. "Students can come to the Luray-Page County Center or the Middletown and Fauquier Campuses and get general education requirements out of the way before transferring to a larger school. The Luray-Page County Center has opened doors for many who may never have had the chance to attend college. It is tangible, something they can reach out and touch. And, I believe it is changing lives for the better."
