LFCC Reaffirmed by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools

MIDDLETOWN and WARRENTON, Va. – Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) is pleased to announce that its accreditation has recently been reaffirmed by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

All institutions accredited by the Commission on Colleges are required to undergo a review for reaffirmation of accreditation every ten years.

“The dedicated employees at LFCC worked diligently during the reaccreditation process,” said Dr. John S. Capps, interim president of LFCC.  “We are very pleased with the College’s reaffirmation.  As LFCC moves forward, it remains committed to its mission of providing high-quality, accessible education to the residents in our service region.”

 The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is the recognized regional accrediting body in the eleven U.S. Southern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia) and in Latin America for institutions of higher education that award associate, baccalaureate, master's or doctoral degrees. The Commission on Colleges is the representative body of the College Delegate Assembly and is charged with carrying out the accreditation process.

Founded in 1970, Lord Fairfax Community College is a comprehensive, multi-campus public institution of higher education.
