If you are a new student planning to register for Summer/Fall 2008 classes, Lord Fairfax Community College has a special program to get you up, running and registered for classes.
Prior to attending an orientation session, you must do the following:
Submit an online application at https://apply.vccs.edu. Applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the orientation you plan to attend.
Complete placement testing or submit SAT scores to the Testing Center. LFCC requires all new students to take placement tests in English, reading, and math. The results of these tests are used to help students and advisors determine appropriate course selection. Students whose scores indicate specific weaknesses may be required to enroll in and successfully complete skills improvement courses prior to college course work.
Note: Allow approximately two hours for placement testing.
Placement testing at the Middletown Campus is available on a first-come, first-serve basis when the College and library are open during the following hours:
Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Placement testing at the Fauquier Campus is available by appointment only. Please call 540-351-1515 to schedule an appointment during the following hours:
Monday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Placement testing at the Luray-Page County Center is available by appointment only. Please call 540-843-0722 to schedule an appointment during the following hours:

A student who presents SAT scores of at least 500 verbal and/or 500 math, from a testing date within the last five years, is not required to take placement testing and may register for college level courses. SAT scores must be forwarded to the College's Testing Center (173 Skirmisher Lane, Middletown, VA 22645) directly from the College Board www.collegeboard.com).
LFCC offers financial aid in the forms of grants and scholarships to full- and part-time students.

Materials must be submitted by the due date. The Financial Aid Office has two annual scholarship cycles. The first cycle has a deadline in mid-October. The second cycle has a deadline in mid-March. Please see the Web site above for exact dates.
