Finding Books

  • Use the online catalog to locate books in the LFCC libraries.

  • You'll need the call number to locate items on the shelf.

Finding E-Books

  • To find e-books, use the keyword search and include the keyword netlibrary.
  • You can view the full-text of the e-books from any computer on either campus.
  • To use a NetLibrary book off-campus, first you must create a NetLibrary account while you are on campus.

  • PsychINFO (EbscoHost)
    Contains nearly 2.3 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines.
  • PsycARTICLES (EbscoHost)
    Full-text articles from psychology journals published by the American Psychological Association.
  • Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
    Provides nearly 575 full text publications, including nearly 550 peer-reviewed titles. It covers topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, and observational and experimental methods.
  •  Academic Search Complete
    A one-stop source for journal and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social sciences, sports, technology, and many general interest topics. Millions of full-text articles.
  • Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition
    Provides nearly 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Also features the Lexi-PAL Drug Guide, which covers 1,300 generic drug patient education sheets with more than 4,700 brand names.  
  • CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) (EbscoHost)
    CINAHL provides indexing for over 2,737 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health.
  • OVID
    Full-text articles from about 180 OVID journals in nursing, medicine and psychology.
  • ERIC (EbscoHost)
    Provides citations and abstracts from over 1,000 educational and education-related journals and full text of more than 2,200 ERIC documents along with references for additional information.
  • Social Services Abstracts (CSA)
    Provides bibliographic coverage of current research focused on social work, human services, and related areas, including social welfare, social policy, and community development. The database abstracts and indexes over 1,300+ serials publications and includes abstracts of journal articles and dissertations, and citations to book reviews.
  • Blackwell Synergy Journals
    Full-text of hundreds of science, medical, and social science journals published by Blackwell.
  • Oxford University Press Journals
    Full-text journals published by the Oxford University Press in the sciences, humanities, and social sciences.

You may be creating a works cited list in MLA format. These websites will help you with APA style.



Off-Campus Access to Online Resources

To use library databases off-campus, you can log in with your VCCS username and password.

Click on a database link and you will be asked to enter your VCCS username and password. This is the same password you use for Blackboard or MyVCCS.

Only registered students can access library databases from off-campus.
