Lord Fairfax Community College Endowments

Endowments are gifts that keep on giving. They consist of donated funds that the College invests to support the purpose that you designate, with the interest earned each year funding that objective. An endowment is a special gift to the College and the community, because it exists in perpetuity.

The Foundation currently maintains more than $4 million in endowment funds. These are permanently invested funds that generate earnings that are used to support the students and programs of the College. In addition to endowments, the Foundation also maintains over $4.9 million in restricted funds and more than $369,000 in general support funds. The Foundation's revenue is comprised of contributions and investment earnings.

Last year, the Foundation raised more than $1 million for student scholarships, resulting in a 330-percent increase from the previous year. Scholarship endowments make up the majority of the endowed funds, but endowments are also maintained to support the College’s academic programs and facilities.

With a gift of $35,000 or more, you can —

  • Establish an endowment to benefit an LFCC program of your own choosing
  • Create an endowed scholarship to benefit deserving students
