Charles E. Day Jr.
Chair of the Board
Owner, Charles Day Insurance
representing Shenandoah CountyCharles E. Day Jr., a lifelong resident of New Market, has worked as a Mutual of Omaha representative since 1993. His production levels have resulted in induction into the company's Honor Club for nine years. Other accomplishments include being named a 2002 Honored Professional in the Who's Who Nationwide Register of Executives and Businesses. Day attended LFCC before transferring to Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where he earned the title of Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow.

Mark E. Pangle
Vice Chair of the Board
Owner, Pangle Real Estate and Auction Company
representing Shenandoah CountyMark Pangle, a member of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) and an Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE), has worked in the real estate business for 28 years. A Woodstock resident, Pangle has worked as a real estate broker, appraiser and auctioneer for Pangle Real Estate and Auction Company Inc. since 1980. For excellence in his field, Pangle was inducted into the Hall of Fame for The Virginia Association of Auctioneers in 2006 and was awarded Virginia's Outstanding Auctioneer of the Year Award for 2001. Pangle holds an associate degree in general studies from LFCC and a bachelor's degree in political science from James Madison University.

Diane E. Lewin
Treasurer of the Board
Certified Public Accountant (retired)
representing the City of WinchesterDiane Lewin, a Winchester resident, retired as comptroller for the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester. In this position, Lewin was responsible for the financial management of the museum and its endowments. Her educational experiences include obtaining an associate degree in business administration from LFCC and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Shenandoah University. In addition, Lewin is a certified public accountant.

John S. Capps
Secretary of the Board
Interim President, LFCCDr. John S. Capps is currently serving as interim president of LFCC. To serve in this capacity, he is taking a temporary leave of absence from his position as vice president of academic and student affairs at Virginia Western Community College (VWCC), a position he has held since 2002. Capps earned bachelor's and master's degrees in English and a doctorate in education, curriculum and instruction from Virginia Tech.

Linnie S. Carter
Executive Director, LFCC Educational Foundation Inc.
Vice President of College Advancement, LFCCLinnie S. Carter is the vice president of college advancement at LFCC and executive director of the LFCC Educational Foundation Inc. Carter earned bachelor's and master's degrees in mass communications from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2000, she earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation from the Universal Accreditation Board. Currently, she is a doctoral student in Old Dominion University's Community College Leadership Program.

Kenneth L. Alger II
Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Shenandoah County
representing Page CountyKenneth L. Alger II, a Stanley resident, works as the assistant commonwealth's attorney for Shenandoah County. In this position, he prosecutes a wide range of felony and misdemeanor cases each year. Alger believes that LFCC helps ensure that an education is available to everyone, not just the privileged elite. Alger holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology from the University of Virginia and a juris doctorate from the University of Georgia.

Byron A. Brill
Periodontist, Byron A. Brill, DDS
representing Warren CountyDr. Byron Brill, a periodontist representing Warren County, has been a member of the Foundation Board since 1993 and has devoted many hours to numerous Foundation projects. In 1995, Brill and his sister, Mrs. Betty Lumpkin, established the C. A. and Helen Powers Brill Endowed Scholarship in honor and memory of their parents.

Heather Burton
Dual Enrollment Coordinator, LFCC
representing Shenandoah CountyHeather Burton, a Strasburg resident, works as the dual enrollment coordinator at LFCC. In this role, she conducts adjunct observations on all dual enrollment instructors and ensures that end-of-course student evaluations are disseminated, collected and analyzed. She also assists with the coordination of the enrollment process. Burton's affiliation with LFCC began during high school, when she participated in the Dual Enrollment Program. After graduating from high school, Burton enrolled at LFCC full time and graduated with an associate of arts and sciences degree with a science specialization. Burton earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and theatre from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in counseling from Radford University.

William C. Daniel
Assistant Principal
representing Clarke CountyWilliam C. Daniel, a Clarke County resident, is an assistant principal at James Wood High School. In this role, he is responsible for student supervision and discipline, instructional leadership and extracurricular activities supervision. In addition, he assists the principal in the normal operation of the school. Daniel holds an associate degree from LFCC and a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees from the University of Virginia.

Anne C. Hall
Real Estate Broker, Long and Foster
representing Fauquier CountyAnne C. Hall, a Warrenton resident, currently works for Long and Foster Realtors in Warrenton. A former Foundation Board chair, she has served Fauquier County and the surrounding counties as a real estate broker for more than 30 years. Her goals as a member of the Foundation Board are to continue building the scholarship program and providing overall community support for the College.

Tanya K. Hurst
Agent, Nationwide Insurance
representing Shenandoah CountyTanya Kelly Hurst, a Maurertown resident, is a Nationwide Insurance associate agent for Lewis & Sons Agency in Strasburg. As a licensed insurance agent, Hurst helps individuals, families and businesses choose insurance policies that provide the best protection for their lives, health and property and insure their future and the future of their loved ones. Hurst is also a proud LFCC alumna.

Mark F. Hyson
Attorney
representing Fauquier CountyMark F. Hyson, a Warrenton resident, is an attorney with Walker Jones, P.C. Hyson holds bachelor's degrees in economics and political science from Virginia Tech and a juris doctorate from the Pennsylvania State University's Dickinson School of Law. Hyson believes that LFCC provides individuals who are willing to work to improve their future with the chance to succeed.

Barbara P. Lee
Retired Educator
representing Clarke CountyBarbara Lee, a Clarke County resident, has served on the College Board since 2002. Lee and her children established the Timothy R. Lee Emergency Medical Technician Scholarship in memory of Timothy Lee, her husband and their father. She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Randolph-Macon Woman's College and a master's degree in elementary school administration from George Mason University. Lee taught public school for 41 years before taking her current job as administrator for the Wee Angels Weekday Programs at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Berryville.

Phillip Justin "P.J." Lewis
Agent, Lewis & Sons Insurance
representing the City of WinchesterPhillip-Justin "PJ" Lewis, a Winchester resident, is an insurance agent with his family-owned business, Lewis & Sons Nationwide Insurance. Lewis manages the business's Winchester office. In addition, Lewis serves as the president of the Winchester Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He graduated with an associate degree from LFCC in 2001 and a bachelor's degree from Old Dominion University in 2004.

Ron Llewellyn
Entrepreneur, land developer and manufacturer
representing Warren CountyRonald "Ron" Llewellyn, a Front Royal resident, is an entrepreneur, land developer and manufacturer. A graduate of Randolph Macon Academy and Virginia Tech, he has experienced the benefits of obtaining advanced degrees, and he has a desire to help others obtain an education. Llewellyn is involved with many community organizations, including the Belle Grove Plantation, Blue Ridge Arts Council, Red Cross, Samuels Public Library Foundation Board, Warren County Educational Endowment, Warren Heritage Society and Warren Memorial Hospital Foundation Board. In addition, Llewellyn is a past member of the Warren County Board of Supervisors.

Providence J. LoPresti
Library Specialist, LFCC
representing Frederick CountyProvidence LoPresti, representing Frederick County, works as a library specialist at LFCC's Middletown Campus. In her position, she assists students as they utilize various programs, search engines and databases available on the library computers. LoPresti is a graduate of LFCC, where she earned an associate degree in information systems technology/programming/systems analysis.

Gene L. Loranger
Associate Professor, LFCC
representing Frederick CountyGene L. Loranger, a Frederick County resident, is a professor of manufacturing technology at LFCC. In addition to instruction, Loranger is responsible for program development in the area of manufacturing technology. He is a licensed master electrician and electrical contractor in Virginia and a licensed stationary engineer in Washington, D.C. Loranger holds an associate degree from Massasoit Community College in Massachusetts, a bachelor's degree from Houghton College in New York and a master's degree from Shenandoah University.

Gilbert Mack
Senior Pastor, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church
representing the City of WinchesterGilbert M. Mack Jr., a Winchester resident, is senior pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. He graduated from the U.S Army Ordinance School and holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from McDaniel College and a master of divinity degree from Howard University School of Divinity. In addition, he is a doctoral degree candidate at Friends International Christian University. Mack was inspired to serve on the LFCC Educational Foundation Board after watching many of his church members improve their lives by attending LFCC. He was also inspired by the College's mission and leadership and LFCC's genuine concern for the community.

Jim Wells
Director of Pharmacy, Warren Memorial Hospital
representing Warren CountyJim Wells, a Front Royal resident, is the director of pharmacy at Warren Memorial Hospital, which is part of Valley Health. Wells earned a bachelor's degree from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. In addition to his work, Wells is involved with several organizations, including the Warren County School Board and Front Royal Lions Club. He is also a former LFCC Board member.

Ann R. Wiltshire
Medical Professional (retired)
representing Frederick CountyAnn Wiltshire, a Frederick County resident, is retired after working in the medical field as an operating room technician for almost 30 years. She attended James Madison University and is a volunteer in the community. Wiltshire is married and has two daughters and a grandson.

Sarah J. Yakel
Vice President and Trust Officer, Fauquier Bank
representing Fauquier CountySarah Yakel, a Fauquier County resident, is vice president of the Fauquier Bank in Warrenton. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional, Yakel works with clients to manage their investment and trust accounts. She also prepares comprehensive financial plans for individuals to address and solve their personal concerns and assist them in meeting their future financial goals. Yakel holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Campbell University in North Carolina.
