How can an employer get information about job openings to job seekers?
An employer can contact the Career Center so that the center can list and publicize the job opening. Employers should register at our virtual career site www.collegecentral.com/lfcc and provide an attractive advertisement for our bulletin boards. The advertisement should contain the name of the company and a logo if possible. It should also have contact information including names, phone numbers and e-mail address if available.
How do internships work?
Internships are generally initiated by a student who is interested in exploring and getting actual on-the-job experience in a particular career field. Interns are required to have 45 contact hours at the internship for each hour of credit. Interns must complete a journal of all activities performed time spent. The intern will develop a project that is approved by his/her advisor in a related class. The internship coordinator will visit the training station and manage all other details related to the internship. Interns should remember that they represent the college at their internship site.
